4 stars for food, 2 stars for service...hence the 3 star rating. This was our first time going to Spin. We went on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30. We walked in, didn't know if we should sit down , go through the fast food line, or what to do. No one helped. We read the menu on the wall, told the order taker what we wanted and that we wanted to have a couple of beers at the bar. He told us to go past the "order before you sit down" sign and have a seat at the bar and they "will take your order after you sit down." You get the hint. I ordered a Greek salad, he ordered a bowl of Minestrone and we split a three meat pizza. The server asked if we wanted the salad and soup before the pizza and we said yes. I got my salad and it was fantastic. The roasted tomatoes are a nice touch and the pre-tossed salad was a slam dunk. He never got his soup. Our pizza sat on the counter for over five minutes and at least four servers looked at the ticket, looked at us, and walked away. After they conferred, they gave us our pizza and began to pour the soup. We stopped them. The fourth server of the night said they wouldn't charge us for the soup we never got. You get the hint. The pizza was so good. For two guys who don't like the crust, we ate the whole thing! Bones and all! Nice sauce, not skimpy on the meat, and flavorful. Spin would do better as a take-out. The food is fresh, some of the the best pizza in KC, and a Greek salad I love, but the service is lacking.

Affordable, kid-friendly, and yummy. Not just pizza, delicious salads and gelato, too. Really what more could you want?

Pizza is a little small and cheese lacking for the price. Best deal at Spin is Minestrone soip and half a bacon bit salad.... $7.95. For another buck you can make it s big bowl of soup or home made meatballs. Super friendly people and good service. New location that is clean and up to date.

I have been here 4 times since they opened in October. This is the first Spin! I have ever been to. I work in the area, so it is convenient for lunch and sometimes dinner. I have enjoyed it every time. The only thing I did not like was the caesar salad. I found it to be flavorless and almost watered down. The BLT salad however, is full of flavor and delicious. I find myself craving it. Their chicken pesto pizza was okay, but their spinaci y proscuitto is my favorite. Delicious in every way. They have carmelized onions, goat cheese and roasted garlic as toppings, so you can't go wrong with any of those in my book. I find it to be on the more expensive side for pizza, but it is also really good quality, so a few extra dollars is okay every once in a while. Their pizza mia special is definitley the way to go for lunch.

Good food, lame service. Love the thin crust pizza and the salads are superb. The setup of standing in line to order before being seated works great for lunch but makes for awkward dinner service. We went around 7:45 on a slow, snowy Saturday night. There were about 5 or 6 tables sat in the restaurant. The people at the register who took our order were friendly and professional. We sat down and our drinks and food were delivered quickly. The person who ran our drinks told us that someone else was our server. The drink runner person ended up also delivering our food. Our server stopped by our table to check on us just after the food arrived. About half way through our meal we decided to have another round of drinks. We finally tracked down our server and ordered a glass of wine and a beer. She came back with our bill for it (we paid cash for our first drinks and meal at the counter) and told us, "Your alcohol will be right over". Odd thing to say, but she was young so we assumed she may not have been old enough to carry it over. No problem. We had cash out to pay for the second round of drinks. After about 15 minutes of finishing our meals and making eye contact (more than once) with our server as she swept her section a few tables away, we still hadn't gotten our drinks. By that time we didn't want them any more. There seemed to be a lot of employees but none ever really came by. Not angry about what happened just more embarrassed for Spin. The restaurant was dead. We just wanted a couple more drinks. We laughed it off as we walked around the corner to Urban Table and gave them our money instead. The service could be a great argument against eliminating tips. This was a case of a wage employee not giving a shit about what kind of service she gives her guests because shes getting paid anyway. Think I'll stick to carry out next time.

I have definitely had my share of lunches at Spin off the Plaza and Spin off 119th street. Normally, I do Pizza Mia (small pizza/small salad) or a Greek salad with chicken. I went to this location for a friends and family night last Friday. I went back again on Monday when they opened to the public. They were still breaking in the crew for friends and family, so there were certainly glitches in the service and that's ok. The food however, wasn't quite as good as the other locations. Pizza was dry and lacked olive oil. Flat bread also too dry and needed oil. Greek salad needed more dressing. When I went back on Monday, the place was about 20% full, so I was hoping that the food would get a little more attention. Unfortunately, my flatbread was incredibly hard and dry. The Greek salad was dressed generously. The only problem with the salad was that I requested fresh cracked pepper for my salad and when she came back, she said that they didn't have "fresh peppers" for the salad. I said, "no, fresh cracked pepper-like in a grinder." She said she never heard of that before. Sensing a communication problem, I got up and went to the kitchen to ask a manager. He told me they "don't have a pepper grinder at all." Huh? I always have to ask for it at the other locations, but at least they have one. Btw, that also means they don't use fresh pepper when they cook. I used my pepper shaker and moved on. Even with the restaurant more than half empty, there was not a lot of service. We tried to wave over the server to ask for napkins. She just looked at us and kept walking. Later, when we wanted refills, she was pushing a broom around. Another server who came in at second shift asked if we wanted refills. Regarding the location, they will do great at Corinth, were there are tons of families on the go with busy schedules and kids love pizza. There is one thing they have on the other location and that is a open and beautiful space. It feels new and the walnut floors are beautiful. They also have more booth seating, which is a plus. There is some major tweaking that needs to happen in order to get this location up to pace with the other locations. 119th is a pretty well oiled machine and the Plaza location is very consistent in their food quality. I will be checking back in next month. The proximity to my house makes for a great carry out option.

It's been open for seven months now, and I finally dined here tonight. Came with my husband, MIL (who is in town for the weekend) son and baby. The service was a bit slow at times, but we did get everything we needed and even an extra pizza!! They accidentally made my son's meatball pizza twice and just brought it over to the table and put it in a box for us. Not only that, when my little guy accidentally dropped his little cup of gelato on the floor, they gave him another! Needless to say, he was very, very happy!! The rest of us just ordered salads and flatbread with the trio of spreads to share and everything was as good as we expected. My husband was not a huge fan of other locations, but I think made him rethink Spin. I was really surprised it wasn't busier when it is much better than some other options in Corinth!!

Not only is SPIN! pizza absolutely delicious, the inspiration for this post is for the outstanding customer service. Everyone at this location is awesome, but the specific shout-out goes to the manager who went above and beyond. I forgot to ask for part of my order to be delayed, and he still let me have a new pizza as I was leaving so my husband could have fresh food. Completely unexpected and appreciated! This place is worth the drive if you don't live in Prairie Village. And you're lucky if you DO live close.

Guys I just wanted to update my review. I think the GF crust recipe has improved. I've sampled it twice since my review and the sugar flavor has been noticeably watched down so kudos. For the selection, I go here before Minskys nowadays. Service has gotten slightly better.

It's kind of an unusual set-up you order as you enter and then find a table. The atmosphere is casual but elegant. The lunch special of a 6" pizza and salad was just the right size for one. The 3 meat pizza was very good and came out extremely hot with the Greek salad on the side. Both were fresh and very tasty.

Strayed from pizza and went with the Italian Beef Panini and I'm glad I did! Great flavor and good peppers with some melty cheese made it a winner and a repeater. CHICAGO DISCLAIMER: It's not "dipped" so don't expect that... but it's really tasty and great for lunch!

Good service. Order at the counter and food is brought to you. Solid children's choices like cheese pizza with complimentary gelato. All pizzas are speciality with things like goat cheese. The Mia allows you to get a personal size pizza and half a salad of your choice. Good for large groups with plenty of seating.

I am so happy to have another location of this great pizza chain. Although the Corinth location is only 0.4 miles closer to my home than the one on Main Street, this Spin is more convenient for me for both its proximity and its ease of parking. Spin is a great chain restaurant. Patrons may either dine in or carry out. The pizza is Naples style, thin crust (choice of traditional or whole wheat), with either a marinara sauce or white pizza (olive oil and garlic) treatment. There is a menu of signature pizzas or one may order a pizza with two toppings of his choice (for me: kalamata olives and anchovies! Yum!). When I visit, I like to get the My Pizza Mia combination, a six inch personal pizza and a small salad. My favorite salad is the Sonoma Salad, but I recommend the Eight Color Salad as well. Don't forget to join the membership program to earn points toward a free gelato. If you forget (or permanently lose) your card, it can be looked up by your name. It costs nothing, and eventually you might earn a free scoop of gelato, so it's really an obvious choice. If you get a kids meal, it will come with a token for a very VERY small gelato (just enough to get your toddler sugared up and messy with chocolate but VERY happy).

So I went spin for lunch. They were crazy busy. So I knew I should expect a slight wait. There was in fact a sleight wait. But my beer was still cold and pizza still hot when it came out. The manager still came over and apologized for the wait. The service here truly is great.

Love the ambiance of the place, the panini is decent and the options are plentiful. I've heard the pizza is great, yet I haven't had it yet. The one thing that irks me a bit about this spot is the gimmicky ordering system. You stand in line to place your order, then take a RFID coaster to your table where the food is delivered. Then you have a waitress. Seems a little unnecessary, just have a waitress. Soups are ok, and salads are pretty good. Great beers on tap.

It's only getting 2 stars because the food is decent. But this place is described in one word, pretentious. I say it because they have pizzas and salads that aren't as good as their priced. I was super disappointed in the service. There were 2 servers for the whole dining area and we never got refills. Heck, we never saw our server again. They had 20 people in the kitchen area, but 2 servers? That doesn't make any sense. There are several places I can go for pizza and either spend less or more and get way better service.

This location provides the same great food and service. We went for lunch. The chicken Caesar salad with chicken was fantastic. The dressing isn't too heavy & the chicken is shaved & has a great flavor. But, it's the service that really stood out. The manager, Marco, really took care of us. He stopped by several times to check on us.

Spin is a Spin is a Spin, right? Wrong. I have been to all Johnson County locations and one on Main Street. This one rates up there as one of the better ones even though it's the newest location. I tried my favorite #19 (Cipolla e Chevre (Roasted Caramelized Onions & Goat Cheese & Onion Fig Marmalade) for the first time in a long time. The regular location I go to hasn't been impressing me with it. But this location made it perfectly. The blend of cheese and fig marmalade was spot on. I didn't have any issues with service, at all. My water was kept filled and we were checked on quite a few times. I'm sure if my next time there is as good as my first this will end up my go-to Spin and get an extra star.

Fast casual continues to grow and expand across genres. This very successful homegrown franchise (now moving into Orange County, California, after being pioneered right here) has a new location in the same plaza as Urban Table, BRGR, Hattie's Fine Coffee, Johnny's, etc. Was here over the weekend for the soft opening. Jake (I think that was his name) was a very able employee who not only was handling his own stations but was helping the less experienced staff. At our table, where we were enjoying a gluten-free version (lots of pizza places don't have this option) of a pizza that had green apples and sausage, Grace was our friendly and happy server. Great start to your newest location guys. Congrats.

Got take-out pizza from Spin! in Prairie Village yesterday. The pizza is a bit expensive (compared to the "big" delivery chains), but the "original" crust is terrific. We got the Proscuitto and Fig pizza as well as the 3 Meat. Both pizzas were saltier than we would have expected ... nearly inedible. Perhaps we should try different varieties, but based on this experience, we wouldn't go back.

Fast casual -- brick oven pizza, sandwiches, and salads. Multiple locations in KC, each restaurant stacks up on quality of food, service, atmosphere, and value (including wine).

Love the mini mia and half salad for lunch, less than 9$ what a deal. The trio hummus platter is a meal in itself. Love this place, great nice staff.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
